Basic costs of food and drinks in supermarkets:
1 kilo loaf of bread: 250-350 HUF (1-1.5 euro)
1 liter milk: 190-240 HUF (0.5-1 euro)
6 eggs: 250-350 HUF (1-1.5 euro)
1 kilo sugar: 180 HUF (0.5 euro)
1 bottle of beer: 200-350 HUF (1-2 euro)
1 bottle of table wine: 600-3000 HUF (3-10 euro)
1 kilo flour: 150 HUF (0.5 euro)
1 can house brand energy drink: 150-300 HUF (0.5 – 1 euro)
1 kilo supermarket sausage: 1700 HUF (5-6 euro)
1 kilo frozen vegetables: 400-600 HUF (2-3 euro)
1 litre fruit juice: 270-450 HUF (1-2 euro)
1 kilo jar Nescafe: 1500 HUF (5 euro)
1 kilo dry pasta: 200 HUF (1 euro)
Fruits and vegetables are seasonal and the prices vary accordingly.

Budapest offers both great views and a cheap holiday.
Eating and drinking out:
Coffee: 280-400 HUF (1-2 euro)
Tea (don’t drink tea, unless you are at a dedicated tea house): 300 (1 euro)
Soft drinks (bottled): 250 HUF (1 euro)
Beer (0.3): 300 HUF (1 euro)
Beer (0.5): 600 HUF (2 euro)
Wine (0.1): 150-200 HUF (0.5 euro)
Spirits (5ml): 500-600 HUF (2 euro), except the better quality spirits, such as nicer whiskies, which can be around 900 HUF (3 euro)
Soda water (0.1): 50 HUF (0.2 euro)
Packet of crisps (large): 200-300 HUF (1-1.5 euro)
Salads: 400-700 HUF (2-3 euro)
Starters: 500-1000 HUF (3-4 euro)
Fish and game: 2000-3000 HUF (7-10 euro)
Poultry: 1500-2200 HUF (5-7 euro)
Pork: 1500-2200 HUF (5-7 euro)
Steak: 2500-3500 HUF (10-13 euro)
Tip 10-15% in restaurants and cabs.

Edible stuffs are quite very cheap in India than Budapest.
